Family Care Cremation Services

Our Story

Family Care Cremation Services has been licensed by the Board of Embalmers and Funeral Directors of the State of Ohio since April 1, 2014, and was the first crematory in Columbiana County. The crematory, located at our Columbiana funeral home, was custom manufactured by CMS of Tulsa, OK, and incorporates the latest in crematory technology. We recognized that as the funeral profession continues to change and cremation rates rise, providing families with in-house cremation services—without relying on a third-party facility—was not only important to us, but to the families we serve. We are very proud to be the first funeral homes in Columbiana County to offer families on-site cremations, ensuring that loved ones remain in our care throughout the process, having all cremations directly supervised by a licensed funeral director.

The Advantages of Having an On-Site Crematory

Enhanced Peace Of Mind

Once your loved one arrives at the funeral home, they never leave the care of our trusted funeral home staff. Not using a third-party crematory offers enhanced security throughout the entire process as well as a reduced risk for errors during transit or identification.

Transparency

Our open-door policy allows families to view the crematory, when possible, and, if desired, witness cremations at a time that works for them.

Prompt

With an on-site crematory, your loved one is never transported off site. This gives us the ability to prioritize and expedite cremations to put our families in the best position to arrange services with the schedule they desire.

Relationships

The same staff you meet with in arrangements and that directs the funeral or memorial service, are the same staff caring for your loved one during the cremation process. While using a funeral home without an on-site crematory means that your loved one’s body will be transferred to a third-party crematory for the actual cremation.

Expertise

Performing in-house cremation services gives our licensed staff hands on knowledge and understanding of the cremation process, allowing them to answer any questions your family may have regarding cremation.
