Salem - Shelton "Shaky" Eugene McCoy, age 58, of Salem, died on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
He was born on October 22, 1965, in Youngstown, a son of the late Gene and Vera Joyce McCoy.
Shelton, or Shaky as his family and friends knew him, began his career of 39 years working as a truck driver for his father, who owned and operated Gene McCoy Trucking. He was an amazing mechanic who could fix anything and solve any mechanical issue. Shaky had a passion for cars that led him to building his own drag racing car. Mostly, he loved spending time with his family and absolutely adored his young grandson. Shaky was happiest when he was with his family doing what they loved most, camping.
Shelton is survived by his beloved wife, Diane Hahn McCoy, whom he married on September 10, 1994; two daughters, Rebecca McCoy of Salem and Brittany McCoy of Washingtonville; grandson, Jax McCoy and by his brother, Robert (Sharon) McCoy of Salem.
The family will receive friends on Monday, April 22, 2024, from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana.
Services will be held on Monday, at the funeral home, at 12:00 pm, with Pastor Kari Lankford officiating.
Burial will take place at Columbiana Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the funeral home to help offset funeral expenses.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana.
